Season One forges ahead with new adventures, new improvements, and new ways to play via the Update 51 base-game patch. This update is free for all ESO players and includes the following:

    • Arrives September 30 as part of Season One

Nowhere Vault

A new kind of adventure added as part of Season One, the Nowhere Vault is a perplexing puzzle experience for solo players or groups. Venture into Sage Voernet’s hidden vault, solve its myriad puzzles and challenges, and help secure the stronghold against would-be plunderers.

This new experience is now live with Season One. To get started, find Sage’s Voernet’s assistant Urli within the Daggerfall Thieves Den and look for a portal. Learn more about this puzzling new kind of adventure in this preview blog.

Rumors System

Delve into Tamriel’s secrets with Season One’s new Rumors system. Designed to reward curiosity, exploration, and smarts, you can now investigate Rumors scattered throughout Tamriel.

Player Experience Improvements

In addition to the above, we’ve implemented a host of improvements to your core ESO experience with Update 51. Read about some of the highlights below.

Achievement Pinning

If you’re chasing a particular milestone, you can pin an Achievement to your heads-up-display (much like a tracked quest or Golden Pursuit task). Visit your Achievement tab in your Journal to get started.

Antiquities Improvements

Enjoy digging up the past? You will appreciate a series of Antiquities improvements. This includes increasing the speed at which you rank up Scrying and Excavation in early levels, changes to the Antiquarian’s Eye to make it more convenient to use, and improvements to the rate at which Antiquity leads drop.

Customizable HUD—PC Beta

If you play on PC, you can now experiment with a customizable HUD, allowing you to move almost all the game’s on-screen UI elements to a location of your choosing. To get started, open your Systems menu, and select the “Edit Hud (BETA)” option. We look forward to hearing your feedback on this new option!

Hybridization & Alchemy Improvements

For those who enjoy tinkering with their builds, the team has implemented a series of improvements to hybridization and alchemy. This includes work on Mundus Stones, the buff system, and passive skills for the four original classes—Dragonknight, Nightblade, Sorcerer, and Templar.

High Seas of Tamriel Event

An all-new event introduced with Update 51 and Season One, the High Seas of Tamriel sees you and your crew set sail across the Abecean to battle marauding pirates and plunder the ocean’s depths.

Adventure on the Abecean Sea!

This in-game event will be live only from September 30 until October 14, so don’t miss out on your chance to find adventure on the high seas and earn a host of treasure as you do!

Tamriel Tome Improvements

This update also implements a series of improvements to the Tamriel Tome reward system that were based on player feedback. This includes an increase to the end-of-season Tome Point rollover cap, changes to Weekly Challenges, tweaks to Gold rerolls for a smoother ramp-up curve, and more.

Solo Dungeons—Season Two

Arriving with the kickoff of Season Two on October 21, solo versions of Moon Hunter Keep and March of Sacrifices dungeons have been crafted for those who stand strongest alone. Redesigned for the solo adventurer in mind, you can experience these two fan-favorite encounters anew, complete their stories at your own pace, and discover a new challenge.
